SUMMARY

1. The Chelev of a non-Kosher animal conveys Tum'as Neveilah.

2. The Chelev of a Chayah conveys Tum'as Neveilah.

3. The prohibitions of Neveilah and Tereifah take effect even on Chelev.

4. If a bird of Chulin or Kodshim is slaughtered inside the Beis ha'Mikdash, it does not convey Tum'as Neveilah.

5. If a piece less than the size of an olive of the Neveilah of a Kosher bird is eaten, or a piece the size of an olive is eaten in more than the time of Achilas Peras, it does not convey Tum'as Neveilah to the person who swallows it.

6. The Shechitah of a non-Kosher animal is not Metaher it from Tum'as Neveilah.

7. The Neveilah of a non-Kosher bird does not convey Tum'ah when it is swallowed.

8. The Melikah of a bird of Kodshim in the Beis ha'Mikdash is Metaher it from Tum'as Neveilah even if it is a Tereifah, but not if it is a Ba'al Mum, according to Rebbi Yochanan. Rebbi Elazar disagrees.

9. An Eglah Arufah does not convey Tum'as Neveilah after the Arifah.

10. The Chelev of a Shor ha'Niskal, and of an Eglah Arufah which died before the Arifah, is Tahor and does not convey Tum'as Neveilah.

A BIT MORE

1. The Chelev of a Kosher animal does not convey Tum'as Neveilah. The Chelev of a non-Kosher animal is no different from its flesh; neither one may be eaten. In the same way, Chelev conveys Tum'ah just like the flesh.

2. The Chelev of a Chayah may be eaten, unlike the Chelev of a Behemah. Regarding Tum'as Neveilah, there is no difference between the flesh and the Chelev; both convey Tum'ah.

3. Although the item is already prohibited because of Chelev, if the animal becomes a Neveilah or a Tereifah the prohibitions of Neveilah and Tereifah also take effect.

4. Although the birds may not be eaten, the Shechitah is effective in that the birds do not convey Tum'as Neveilah.

5. If an olive's size piece a prohibited item is eaten in more than the time of Achilas Peras, there is no Chiyuv Malkus. This applies also to Tum'ah. If an olive's size piece of the Neveilah of a bird is swallowed in more than the time of Achilas Peras, it does not convey Tum'as Neveilah.

6. A verse in the Torah teaches that only a Kosher animal, when slaughtered, is Tahor from Tum'as Neveilah, but not a non-Kosher animal.

7. The Neveilah of a non-Kosher bird is Tahor. The Neveilah of a Kosher bird conveys Tum'ah only when swallowed, but not via touching or contact.

8. According to Rebbi Elazar, the Melikah of a bird in the Beis ha'Mikdash is Metaher it from Tum'as Neveilah, even for geese and roosters which are not valid birds for a Korban.

9. If Shechitah is done instead of Arifah, it is also Tahor from Tum'as Neveilah, even though one is forbidden to derive benefit from the Eglah as soon as it is taken down to the Nachal. Shechitah is always Metaher a Kosher animal from Tum'as Neveilah, even when the Shechitah does not permit the flesh to be eaten.

10. Although one is forbidden to derive benefit from the Eglah, the Chelev is Tahor from Tum'as Neveilah.
