A BIT MORE
1. The Mizbe'ach must have a ramp, corners, foundation, and it must be square. Rebbi Yosi bar Yehudah says that it also must have a Sovev. 2. These holes descend far into the depths of the earth. 3. Acts of kindness may be done with or without money, for the poor and the wealthy, and both for those who are alive and those who are dead. 4. This is derived from the verse, "And the kindness of Hashem is forever on those who fear Him." 5. One opinion is that Toras Chesed refers to Torah that is learned for the sake of the Mitzvah without ulterior motives. Another opinion is that Torah that is learned in order to teach it is considered Toras Chesed.
