SUMMARY
1. The Shechitah, and Kabalas ha'Dam, of a Chatas and of an Olah must be done in the north part of the Azarah.
2. If someone is in doubt about whether he is Chayav a Korban Me'ilah, he brings an Asham Taluy according to Rebbi Akiva. The Chachamim disagree.
3. An Asham Taluy is brought only for a doubtful transgression of an act for which one is Chayav Kares for intentional transgression (Mezid) and a Chatas for unintentional transgression (Shogeg).
4. A Hekesh overrides a Gezeirah Shavah.
5. A minimum of two Shekalim must be spent for the animal brought as an Asham Taluy.

A BIT MORE
1. The Kohen also must stand in the north while he receives the blood.
2. If the person had an item of Hekdesh and an item of Chulin in front of him and he benefited from one of them but does not know which one, he must bring an Asham Taluy. Rebbi Akiva says that this will protect him from punishment until he determines that he indeed sinned and brings an Asham Me'ilos.
3. However, for a doubtful transgression of an act for which one is Chayav a Korban Oleh v'Yored, such as entering the Mikdash in a state of Tum'ah, one is not Chayav an Asham Taluy.
4. Therefore, according to Rebbi Akiva, one who is in doubt about whether he transgressed Me'ilah is obligated to bring an Asham Taluy, as derived through a Hekesh. Even though a Gezeirah Shavah teaches that an Asham Taluy is brought only for an act for which one is Chayav a Chatas, and not for an act for which one is Chayav an Asham, the Hekesh overrides the Gezeirah Shavah.
5. The Asham Taluy must cost at least two Shekalim even though -- if he was certain that he sinned -- he would buy a Chatas for only one Me'ah. Now that he has a doubt, he must spend two Shekalim.
