SUMMARY
1. The leniency of Pasei Bira'os (see Daf 17, #5) applies only to public wells, not to private wells. 2. There is a dispute about how Hashem created Chavah from Adam. 3. The Gemara continues to discuss the creation of Chavah based on this argument (#2). 4. It is not appropriate to walk behind a woman, even if she is one's wife. 5. A man may not gaze at a woman who is not his wife in order to derive pleasure from her beauty.

A BIT MORE
1. Although the Gemara initially suggests that the Mishnah disagrees with Rebbi Yehudah ben Bava who states that this leniency applies only to public wells, it concludes that the Mishnah mentions "wells" in particular only because most wells are public property (especially when they are in Reshus ha'Rabim). 2. According to one opinion, Adam was originally a man on one side of his body and a woman on the other side, and Hashem merely split him into two beings. According to another opinion, Adam had a tail from which Chavah was fashioned. 3. For example, the verse, "He created them, male and female," is understandable according to the opinion that Adam was created with a female half. The Gemara explains that according to the other opinion, it must be that Hashem's original plan was to create both, and this thought is what the verse refers to, even though in practice Hashem created only Adam at first. 4. It is appropriate to try to pass by a woman instead of walking behind her. 5. The Gemara says that even if the man is as great as Moshe Rabeinu, he will not be spared from Gehinom to atone for this sin (unless he repents for doing so).
