SUMMARY

1. If one offers, outside the Azarah, the head of an Olas ha'Of, which is less than the size of an olive, but the salt on it completes the Shi'ur of a k'Zayis, there is a doubt about whether he is Chayav Kares for offering it.

2. According to the Rabanan, even one slaughters a Korban outside the Azarah, he is Chayav for offering it outside the Azarah. Rebbi Yosi ha'Glili disagrees.

3. Rebbi says that according to Rebbi Yosi ha'Glili, when a Korban was brought inside the Azarah and was valid at some point, one is Chayav if he offers it outside Azarah. Rebbi Shimon ben Elazar says that according to Rebbi Yosi ha'Glili, one is Chayav for offering outside the Azarah any Korban which would be accepted on the Mizbe'ach.

4. When a person becomes Tamei and then Kodshim become Tamei, and then the Tamei person eats the Tamei Kodshim, he is Chayav for eating Kodshim b'Tum'as ha'Guf. When the Kodshim becomes Tamei first, the Chachamim and Rebbi Yosi ha'Glili disagree about whether the person is Chayav for eating Kodshim b'Tum'as ha'Guf.

5. One who slaughters a Korban outside the Azarah for the sake of a person is Chayav, but one who offers a Korban outside the Azarah for the sake of a person is Patur.

6. If two people slaughter a Korban together outside the Azarah, they are Patur. If two people offer a Korban together outside the Azarah, they are Chayav, according to Rebbi Shimon. Rebbi Yosi disagrees.

7. If one slaughters or offers a Korban outside the Azarah b'Shogeg or b'Ones, or he was deceived by others into doing it, he is exempt from Kares.

8. There is no Chiyuv for slaughtering or offering a Sa'ir ha'Mishtale'ach outside the Azarah.

9. Reish Lakish says that everyone agrees that there is no Chiyuv for offering less than an entire limb of a Korban outside the Azarah. If one offers one limb at a time on the Mizbe'ach, there is a dispute about whether there is a separate Chiyuv for each one.

10. Rebbi Yochanan says that everyone agrees that there is a separate Chiyuv for every limb of a Korban that is offered outside the Azarah. If one brings less than an entire limb of a Korban outside the Azarah, there is a dispute about whether he is Chayav.

11. If one offers a Korban outside the Azarah on a rock, according to Rebbi Shimon he is Chayav. According to Rebbi Yosi, he is Chayav only if he offers it on a Mizbe'ach.

A BIT MORE

1. It is a doubt according to both Rebbi Yochanan and Reish Lakish, who disagree about a bone which completes the Shi'ur of the flesh of a Korban. Rebbi Yochanan says that a bone completes the Shi'ur of an olive. It is possible that salt does not complete the Shi'ur since it is not part of the bird. It is also a doubt according to Reish Lakish who says that a bone does not complete the Shi'ur, because if a bone becomes detached from the Korban it is not brought on the Mizbe'ach, but if the salt is washed off a Korban it must be salted again.

2. According to Rebbi Yosi ha'Glili, only when the Korban was slaughtered inside the Azarah is one Chayav for offering it outside the Azarah.

3. According to Rebbi, if the Korban was slaughtered at night, or if the blood was received in a non-sanctified utensil, one who offers it outside the Azarah is not Chayav, because there was never a time at which it was a valid Korban. According to Rebbi Shimon ben Elazar, since a Korban that was slaughtered at night, or whose blood was received in a non-sanctified utensil, is not taken down from the Mizbe'ach once it was placed there, one who offers it outside the Azarah is Chayav.

4. According to the Chachamim, if the Kodshim becomes Tamei first and then the person becomes Tamei, the prohibition against eating Kodshim b'Tum'as ha'Guf takes effect on top of the prohibition against eating Kodshim Teme'im which is already in effect. This is because eating Kodshim b'Tum'as ha'Guf is an Isur Kolel; the prohibition against eating Kodshim b'Tum'as ha'Guf applies not only to this Korban but to all Korbanos. According to Rebbi Yosi ha'Glili, even an Isur Kolel does not go into effect on top of another prohibition which is already in place.

5. However, offering a Korban to a person is also an act of idolatry. Accordingly, one who offers a Korban to a person outside the Azarah intentionally (b'Mezid) with regard to the act of Avodah Zarah, but unintentionally (b'Shogeg) with regard to Shechutei Chutz, is exempt from bringing a Chatas.

6. According to Rebbi Yosi, even if two people bring a Korban together outside the Azarah, they are Patur.

7. The Chiyuv of Kares is only for one who sins b'Mezid, intentionally.

8. Since a Sa'ir ha'Mishtale'ach is not brought on the Mizbe'ach, the Chiyuv of Shechutei Chutz does not apply.

9. According to Rebbi Shimon, there is a separate Chiyuv for each limb of a Korban that is offered outside the Azarah. According to Rebbi Yosi, there is no Chiyuv at all unless the entire animal is offered.

10. According to Rebbi Shimon, there is a Chiyuv for offering less than a limb outside the Azarah if the animal was slaughtered inside the Azarah. Therefore, if one offers half of a limb and then offers the other half, he is Chayav twice. According to Rebbi Yosi, there is no Chiyuv unless an entire limb is offered.

11. Rebbi Shimon maintains that when Korbanos were offered on Bamos, before the Beis ha'Mikdash was built, it was not necessary to bring a Korban on a Mizbe'ach. Therefore, there is a Chiyuv for bringing a Korban outside the Azarah even if it is not brought on a Mizbe'ach.
