SUMMARY
1. Rav and Shmuel were sitting in a Chatzer on Shabbos when the wall between the two Chatzeros fell down.
2. Rav did not protest Shmuel's leniency.
3. Shmuel knew that Rav was displeased, but it did not stop him from ruling leniently.
4. There is a dispute in the Mishnah about the status of a Chatzer that is completely open on one side to the public domain.
5. The Mishnah discusses a Chatzer, a house, or a Mavoy that, on Shabbos, becomes open on two sides to the public domain.

A BIT MORE
1. Rav was upset that Shmuel permitted carrying objects freely in the Chatzer, as Rav maintained in such a situation one may carry only four Amos.
2. This was because they were in the Shmuel's city, so Rav felt that they he had no right to debate Shmuel. However, he made it clear that he disagreed with Shmuel's leniency by turning his head away when Shmuel enforced his ruling.
3. Moreover, when Rav turned his head away, Shmuel said that if Rav is displeased, they can use his belt to tie a sheet between the two Chatzeros. This sheet was not to permit carrying according to Shmuel, but rather in order to make it more comfortable for people to continue using their Chatzeros in a relatively private manner.
4. Rebbi Eliezer: The Chatzer is considered a public domain. Chachamim: It is considered a Karmelis.
5. Rebbi Yehudah: It is permitted on that Shabbos. Rebbi Yosi: It is forbidden even on that Shabbos. Everyone agrees that it is forbidden on the following Shabbos.
