SUMMARY
1. Only men are obligated to do Semichah with their Korban, and not women, according to the Tana Kama. Rebbi Yosi and Rebbi Shimon maintain that women may opt to do Semichah with their Korban. 2. According to Rebbi Meir, one is obligated to cover the blood of the Shechitah of a bird or Chayah that is a Tereifah, or of an animal of Avodah Zarah or Chulin inside the Azarah, or of Kodshim outside the Azarah, or of an animal that is Chayav Sekilah. The Chachamim disagree. 3. Even according to Rebbi Meir, who maintains that a Shechitah which does not permit the meat of the animal to be eaten is considered a valid Shechitah, the Shechitah of the mother does not permit a live fetus that is found in the animal (a Ben Peku'ah) to be eaten without its own Shechitah. 4. Rebbi Shimon maintains that Chulin slaughtered in the Azarah must be burned, and even a Chayah slaughtered in the Azarah must be burned. 5. If Chulin that is a Tereifah is slaughtered in the Azarah, according to Rebbi Shimon one is permitted to derive benefit from it. The Chachamim disagree. 6. If someone slaughters a bird or Chayah even in order to obtain its blood, he must cover the blood.

A BIT MORE
1. Although a woman is not obligated to do Semichah, if she chooses to do Semichah, it is not regarded as doing a forbidden labor with an animal of Kodshim, according to Rebbi Yosi and Rebbi Shimon. 2. The Chachamim follow the opinion of Rebbi Shimon who says that a Shechitah which does not permit the animal to be eaten is not considered a Shechitah, and therefore there is no obligation to cover the blood. 3. Rebbi Meir maintains that a Ben Peku'ah requires Shechitah even if the mother was slaughtered with a valid Shechitah. Rebbi, who agrees with Rebbi Meir that the mother's Shechitah is considered a Shechitah with regard to the prohibition against slaughtering a mother and son on the same day, disagrees with Rebbi Meir with regard to a Ben Peku'ah and maintains that it does not require Shechitah, but he agrees that if the Shechitah of the mother does not permit the meat of the animal to be eaten, then the Ben Peku'ah requires Shechitah. 4. According to Rebbi Shimon, the prohibition against slaughtering Chulin in the Azarah is Min ha'Torah, and therefore it applies even to a Chayah. 5. According to Rebbi Shimon, a Shechitah which does not permit the meat to be eaten is not a Shechitah. Therefore, the animal of Chulin is not considered to have been slaughtered in the Azarah since it is a Tereifah and the Shechitah does not permit it to be eaten, and one is permitted to derive benefit from it. 6. The only other option that he has is to kill the Chayah or bird without Shechitah. In such a case there is no obligation to cover the blood and he may use the blood for his own purposes.
