SUMMARY
1. The Melikah of a Chatas ha'Of is done from the back of the neck. The Kohen severs the trachea and the esophagus, and then he presses the bird against the Mizbe'ach to squeeze out the blood. 2. There was no Yesod in the southeastern corner of the Mizbe'ach. Rav and Levi disagree about whether there was no Yesod at all, or whether the blood was not poured onto the Yesod there. 3. There was a Yesod for the entire length of the west and north sides of the Mizbe'ach, plus an additional Amah of Yesod on the south and east. 4. The ramp of the Mizbe'ach overlapped the Amah of the Sovev and the Amah of the Yesod. 5. The Mizbe'ach was built from a frame of 30 Amos square and 1 Amah high, filled with damp stones, lime, molten lead, and tar. This was the place of the Yesod. 6. For the Sovev, a frame 30 Amos square and 5 Amos high was filled with stones, etc. For the top of the Mizbe'ach, a frame 20 Amos square and 3 Amos high was brought and filled. 7. There is a hollow space in the Keranos of the Mizbe'ach into which the blood of a Korban Chatas is poured. 8. The Beis ha'Mikdash is the highest place in Eretz Yisrael. Eretz Yisrael is the highest of all the lands. 9. It is a Halachah l'Moshe mi'Sinai that the Shechinah will reside in the portion of Binyamin, while the Sanhedrin will sit in the portion of Yehudah. 10. Shalmei Tzibur and Ashamos are slaughtered in the north of the Azarah. The blood is received in the north of the Azarah and placed on two corners of the Mizbe'ach.

A BIT MORE
1. The Kohen ascends the ramp of the Mizbe'ach and turns onto the Sovev. He performs the Melikah on the southeastern corner of the Mizbe'ach. 2. According to Rav, there was no Yesod on the southeastern portion of the Mizbe'ach at all. Levi maintains that there was a Yesod, but the blood was not poured onto that portion of the Yesod. 3. According to Levi, the Yesod went around the entire Mizbe'ach, including the entire length of the south and the east. The blood was not poured on the south and east portion of the Yesod, except for the first Amah next to the north and the west. 4. The length of the Mizbe'ach was 32 Amos. The length of the ramp was also 32 Amos. Combined they took up only 62 Amos, because the ramp overlapped the one Amah of the Sovev and the one Amah of the Yesod. According to Rav, there was no Yesod in the area of the ramp. Nevertheless, the ramp overlapped the area where the Yesod would have been had it continued for more than one Amah in the south. 5. Rav says that the southeastern portion of the Mizbe'ach lacked a Yesod. To build it, a block of wood was placed in the southeastern part of the frame so that when the stones and other materials were poured into the frame, the southeastern portion would not be filled up. When the materials dried up, the block of wood was removed so that the southeastern area of the frame remained hollow. 6. A frame one Amah square was subsequently brought and filled for all four corners of the Mizbe'ach. These were the Keranos. 7. Pieces of wood were placed in the Keranos so that when the stones and the other materials were poured in the frame, they would not fill up that space. When the materials dried up, the wood was removed so that the area would be hollow. 8. Shmuel ha'Navi and David ha'Melech wanted to build the Beis ha'Mikdash in Ein Eitam, the highest place in the portion of Binyamin. Moshe Rabeinu blessed Binyamin that the Shechinah will rest between his shoulders, which are lower than the head, implying that the Beis ha'Mikdash should be slightly lower than the highest place. Hence, they built it in Yerushalayim. 9. Therefore, the Heichal and Kodshei Kodashim are in the portion of Binyamin. The Har ha'Bayis and a portion of the Azarah are in the portion of Yehudah. The Sanhedrin sits in the Lishkas ha'Gazis, in the Azarah in the portion of Yehudah. 10. The flesh of these Korbanos may be eaten only by male Kohanim within the curtains of the Ohel Mo'ed, or within the walls of the Azarah of the Beis ha'Mikdash, for one day and one night until midnight.
