SUMMARY
If someone makes a Neder prohibiting meat, the gravy and small bits of meat are permitted, but Rebbi Yehudah argues. If someone makes a Neder prohibiting a specific piece of meat, if the meat is cooked with other food and gives it taste the other food is prohibited. If someone makes a Neder prohibiting wine, if wine falls into a dish the dish is permitted. If someone makes a Neder prohibiting a specific bottle of wine, if the wine falls into a dish and gives it taste the food is prohibited. If someone makes a Neder prohibiting lentils he may not eat honey covered lentils but Rebbi Yosi argues. (1) If someone makes a Neder prohibiting milk he may eat cheese and if he made a Neder prohibiting cheese he may drink milk. If someone makes a Neder prohibiting gravy he may eat the small bits of meat on the bottom of the pan. If someone makes a Neder prohibiting grapes or olives, wine and oil are permitted. If someone makes a Neder prohibiting these grapes or olives that he taste, both the fruit and the wine or oil are prohibited. (2) If a person prohibits these fruit on himself with a Konam he is forbidden to benefit from the proceeds of a trade of the fruit and from anything that grows from the fruit. If a person makes a Neder that he will not eat fruit he is permitted to benefit from the proceeds of a trade of the fruit and from anything that grows from the fruit. If someone makes a Neder prohibiting Dag Dagim both large and small fish and raw and cooked fish are prohibited.
A BIT MORE
1. The Rabanan hold that honey covered lentils are no different than regular lentils and are included in the Neder but Rebbi Yosi holds that since it has a different name it is permitted. 2. Even if he only says these fruit are prohibited, without saying that he will taste, the oil or wine are prohibited.

BRIEF INSIGHT
DAVAR SHE'YESH LO MATIRIN If someone makes a Neder prohibiting a specific piece of meat, if the meat is cooked with other food and gives it taste the food is prohibited. The Ran asks that even if it does not give taste the food should be forbidden because a Neder is something that can become permitted (by means of a Chacham releasing the person from the Neder) and a Davar she'Yesh Lo Matirin is not Batel even in a thousand. The Ran answers that if it is cooked together with the same type of food it is not Batel even in a thousand, but if it is cooked with a different type of food it is Batel even though it is a Davar she'Yesh Lo Matirin.
QUICK HALACHAH
OIL AND WINE If someone makes a Neder prohibiting grapes or olives, the wine and oil are permitted even if they are freshly pressed. If he says these fruit are prohibited or he says the grapes or olives that he will taste shall be prohibited he may not eat the oil or wine or a dish that has the taste of the oil or wine.
