SUMMARY

1. One may not cook the Korban Pesach in water or fruit juice.

2. There is a dispute about whether one fulfills the Mitzvah of Matzah with Matzah that was cooked.

3. One is not liable for Malkus for eating a raw k'Zayis of the Korban Pesach.

4. Although one is not liable for Malkus for eating the Korban Pesach raw, it is forbidden do so.

5. One who eats a Korban Pesach that was cooked in the hot springs of Teverya is liable for eating a cooked Korban Pesach.

A BIT MORE

1. The verse states explicitly that it may not be cooked in water. The Tana Kama says that if it may not be cooked in water -- which does not weaken the taste of the meat --then certainly it may not be cooked in fruit juice which does not weaken the taste of the meat.

2. Rebbi Meir: One fulfills the Mitzvah with cooked Matzah as long as it has not softened to the point where the pieces are breaking apart and disintegrating into the water. Rebbi Yosi: One does not fulfill the Mitzvah with cooked Matzah at all.

3. When the verse states, "Do not eat from it Na," it does not mean raw, but when it is only slightly roasted.

4. This is because the verse that states that it must be roasted (completely) implies that it should not be eaten when it is raw. However, one does not receive Malkus for this because the verse, "Do not eat it unless it is roasted," is a negative prohibition that includes many laws, and one does not receive Malkus for such a prohibition.

5. While this is not technically considered cooking because it is not cooked through fire, this opinion maintains that one does receive Malkus for a prohibition that includes many laws. He therefore transgresses the prohibition, "Do not eat it unless it is roasted."
