A BIT MORE
1. If an Esrog has even a very small hole that penetrates the entire Esrog (and it grew naturally somehow), it is invalid. If a peg was pressed into an Esrog making a hole the size of an Isar (a coin), it is invalid.
2. For example, a black or white Esrog is invalid.
3. Chachamim: It is invalid. Rebbi Akiva: It is valid.
4. Chachamim: The laws of Orlah apply to young Esrogim. Rebbi Shimon: They do not apply. The Gemara explains that these disputes (#3, #4) are not related to each other; Rebbi Shimon might agree with the Chachamim regarding the use of the Esrog for Arba'as ha'Minim, and Rebbi Akiva might agree with the Chachamim regarding Orlah.
5. It was related that Rebbi Akiva once came into the synagogue with a very large Esrog hanging from his shoulder. Rebbi Yehudah claimed that the sages told him that such an Esrog does not fulfill the requirement of "Hadar."
