SUMMARY
If someone vows that his friend may not benefit from him unless he takes for his son a Kor of wheat, his friend may say that it is a bigger honor for him not to take the gift. (1) If someone vows that his friend may not benefit from him unless he gives his son a Kor of wheat, Rebbi Meir says that if he does not give the son the wheat the Neder is valid. The Chachamim say that even if he does not give the son the wheat the Neder is valid if he says that he regards it as if he received it. If someone vows that his friend may not benefit from him unless he eats by him, if an Ones does not allow the friend to fulfill the condition the Neder is void. Rebbi Eliezer Ben Yakov says that if someone vows that he will not benefit from his friend if his friend does not eat by him hot bread and cold water it is Nidrei Ziruzin. (2) If someone prohibits an object on condition that he did not see 600,000 people on the road it is a Neder Havai. (3) If someone prohibits an object on condition that he did not see a snake like the beam of an olive press it is a Neder Havai. (4) Nidrei Havai are permitted, but Shevu'os Havai are prohibited. A Shevu'as Havai is when someone swears that an object shall be prohibited if he did not see a snake like a beam of an olive press, or 600,000 people on the road.
A BIT MORE
1. Since the intention of the person who made the Neder is to honor his friend, it is a bigger honor for the friend not to take the gift that is offered and thus it is regarded as if the condition was fulfilled and it is not a Neder. 2. The Chachamim hold that it is not regarded as Nidrei Ziruzin and it is a valid Neder. According to the Chachamim the only type of Neder which is Nidrei Ziruzin is in the case of the Mishnah that the buyer and seller are haggling over a price. 3. It is regarded as if the condition was fulfilled because he was exaggerating when he said 600,000 people and he simply meant that he saw a large amount of people. 4. It is a Neder Havai and it is not a valid Neder because a snake like a beam of an olive press does not exist and therefore if he really meant to prohibit the object he would have simply prohibited the object without making a condition that is impossible to fulfill.

BRIEF INSIGHT
OLEI MITZRAYIM The Shulchan Aruch says that if someone prohibits an object on condition that he did not see the amount of people like the Olei Mitzrayim it is a Neder Havai. The Taz asks that it is possible to see the amount of people like the Olei Mitzrayim and there is even a special blessing to say when one sees 600,000 people. It is only regarded as a Neder Havai if he says that he saw 600,000 people on one road because it is impossible for 600,000 people to be on one road. The Shalmei Nedarim answers that although it is possible to see 600,000 people, it is not possible to see 600,000 people at one time and the Shulchan Aruch is talking about a case that he claims that he saw 600,000 people at one time.
QUICK HALACHAH
NEDER ZIRUZIN Someone who invites his friend to eat by him and his friend refuses and consequently he makes a Neder prohibiting his property on his friend, or he vows that he will not benefit from his friend's property if he does not eat by him hot bread or drink cold water it is a Neder Ziruzin. However if Reuven invites Shimon to eat by him and Shimon asks Reuven to make a Neder because he is also invited somewhere else and he would rather eat by Shimon and if Shimon makes a Neder the other person will not pressure him, it is a valid Neder and not a Neder Ziruzin. One may not learn out any other case from Neder Ziruzin because only the specific cases taught to us by the Chachamim are regarded as Nedrei Ziruzin.
