A BIT MORE
1. Rebbi Meir: All saliva found in Yerushalayim is presumed to be Tahor except for that found in the upper market. The saliva there is Tamei, either because Nochrim (who have the status of Zavim mid'Rabanan) or Zavim and Zavos congregate there. Rebbi Yosi: During the year, the saliva found in the middle of the street is Tamei and that found on the side of the street is Tahor, and the opposite is true during the Regel.
2. Rebbi Meir: If they were found on the way to the Mikvah, they are presumed to be Tamei. If they were found on the way up from the Mikvah (a different path), they are presumed to be Tahor. Rebbi Yosi: Most vessels are presumed to be Tahor except for vessels used for the bones of the dead.
3. If he finds it on the thirteenth of Nisan, he must immerse it in a Mikvah even though it is possible that the original owner already did so.
4. If it became Tamei from a Rishon l'Tum'ah, it is immersed in a Mikvah without having to be taken out of the Beis ha'Mikdash, and it may be used again immediately. If it became Tamei through an Av ha'Tum'ah, it is taken out of the Beis ha'Mikdash and immersed.
5. Beis Shamai: It should be burned inside the Beis ha'Mikdash unless it was made Tamei by an Av ha'Tum'ah, in which case it should be burned outside the Beis ha'Mikdash. Beis Hillel: It should be burned outside the Beis ha'Mikdash, unless it was made Tamei only by a Rishon l'Tum'ah.
