SUMMARY
1. Rav Ashi understands that one is allowed to send even Tefilin to his friend on Yom Tov.
2. The Gemara discusses what one does if he is wearing Tefilin and Shabbos enters.
3. One may not cook on Yom Tov for Shabbos. (This law is most applicable when Yom Tov falls on Friday.)
4. When Yom Tov falls on Friday, one must make an Eruv Tavshilin.
5. One is permitted to cook on Yom Tov for Shabbos only if the Eruv Tavshilin is still extant.

A BIT MORE
1. He rules that anything that is ready to be used, even on a weekday, may be sent on Shabbos (provided that it is not Muktzah).
2. If he is in the Beis Midrash or outside his house, he should cover the Tefilin with his hand and enter his house (where he takes them off). The Gemara goes on to discuss when may a person go to his house and when must he take them off at the first house possible. The primary determining factor is whether the Tefilin risk being ruined if he takes them off outside of his house.
3. However, one may cook for Yom Tov on Yom Tov, and if there is leftover for Shabbos he may use it for Shabbos.
4. The Eruv Tavshilin enables one to cook on Yom Tov for Shabbos. There is a dispute about whether one must have two cooked items or one cooked item as the Eruv Tavshilin (see 17b, where there is an opinion that everyone agrees that two cooked items are necessary).
5. Even if a small amount of the original food of the Eruv Tavshlin is still extant, one is permitted to cook on Yom Tov for Shabbos.
