SUMMARY
1. Although the Rabanan stated that a person should request his needs in the blessing of Shome'a Tefilah, he may also make a personal request in each blessing if it is appropriate for that particular blessing. 2. The eight days prior to and after Tekufas Teves are religious holidays of the worshippers of Avodah Zarah. 3. There is a disagreement about whether the world was created in Nisan or Tishrei. 4. When Adam ha'Rishon saw the sun set on his first day alive in the world, he thought the world was becoming dark and reverting back to "Tohu va'Vohu" as a result of his sin. He fasted and cried together with Chavah for the entire night. When he saw the sun rise the next morning, he realized that it was the normal cycle of the world. 5. If a big city celebrates a religious holiday but the surrounding cities that are subordinate to it do not celebrate that holiday, there is a disagreement about whether one is forbidden to engage in commerce with the surrounding cities. 6. If a person who worships Avodah Zarah invites a Jew to his son's wedding, even if the Jew eats and drinks his own food and uses his own waiter, it is tantamount to worshipping Avodah Zarah. 7. If a person who worships Avodah Zarah invites a Jew within thirty days after the wedding of his son, the Jew is forbidden to attend. 7. If a person who worships Avodah Zarah invites a Jew more than thirty days after the wedding of his son, the Jew is permitted to attend unless the idolater states that he is making the banquet in honor of the wedding of his son. 8. The day that the Romans defeated the Greeks and ruled over the world is their religious holiday. One is forbidden to engage in commerce with them within three days of the holiday. 9. The Romans battled the Greeks 32 times and were unable to defeat them until they made a partnership with Yisrael. 10. 180 years prior to the destruction of the second Beis ha'Mikdash, the Roman Kingdom took over Yisrael.

A BIT MORE
1. He may pray for the ill in the blessing of "Rofeh Cholim" and pray for his livelihood in the blessing of "Mevarech ha'Shanim." 2. When Adam ha'Rishon saw the days becoming very short prior to Tekufas Teves, he thought the world was becoming dark because of his sin, and that it was reverting back to a state of "Tohu va'Vohu." He fasted and prayed for eight days. When he saw the days starting to get longer again, he realized that it was part of the normal cycle of the world, and he made a Yom Tov for eight days. The next year, he made all sixteen days a Yom Tov. Adam ha'Rishon made the Yom Tov for the sake of Heaven, and the idolaters make it for Avodah Zarah. 3. According to the opinion that the world was created in Nisan even though Adam ha'Rishon had already witnessed the days getting shorter, he did not witness the days getting as short as they do in the middle of the winter. 4. When he saw the sun rise he brought as a Korban an ox that Hashem had brought up from the ground upright, with its horns before its hoofs. Shmuel says that the ox that Adam ha'Rishon brought as a Korban had only one horn. 5. According to Rebbi Yehoshua ben Levi, one is forbidden to engage in commerce with all of the surrounding cities. Rebbi Yochanan maintains that only with the big city is it forbidden. 6. It was the practice of the Nochrim to worship Avodah Zarah on the day of a son's wedding, in order to thank their Avodah Zarah. A Jew is forbidden to attend the wedding even if he does not eat there. 7. This is because the idolater is likely making the banquet in honor of his son's wedding, and he will worship Avodah Zarah. 8. If the idolater states that he is making the banquet in honor of the marriage of his son, the Jew may not attend for up to twelve months after the wedding. If the Jew is invited prior to the wedding, he may not attend if the idolater has already started the process of making beer for the wedding. 8. There were two separate holidays. The first holiday marks the day the Romans defeated Cleopatra. The second holiday marks their defeat of the Greeks. 9. They arranged with Yisrael that if the king is from the Romans, the second-in-command will be from Yisrael, and if the king is from Yisrael, the second-in-command will be from the Romans. This arrangement lasted 26 years until the Romans reneged on their commitment. 10. 80 years prior to the destruction of the Beis ha'Mikdash, the Rabanan decreed Tum'ah on Eretz ha'Amim and on glassware. 40 years later, the Sanhedrin exiled itself, because it realized that there were numerous murderers and it was impossible to judge them. When the Sanhedrin is exiled from the Lishkas ha'Gazis, it may no longer judge capital cases.
