SUMMARY
1. If one slaughters with a rock, a piece of glass, or a reed, the Shechitah is valid. 2. If a Yisrael is present to ensure that a Kusi slaughters an animal properly, the Shechitah is valid, according to Abaye and Rava. 3. According to Abaye, when a Kusi slaughters an animal, a Yisrael must maintain a constant presence. According to Rava, it is sufficient for the Yisrael to come in and out. 4. If a Nochri is left alone in a Jewish-owned wine store, the Yisrael must come in and out to ensure that he does not touch the wine and make it Yayin Nesech. 5. Rava maintains that a Yisrael Mumar, who eats non-Kosher meat only when Kosher meat is not available, may be given an animal to slaughter if he is given a knife that was checked and found to be valid. 6. Ravina maintains that only one who is known to be proficient in the laws of Shechitah may be given an animal to slaughter. 7. According to the second version of Ravina, only one who has slaughtered previously on several occasions may be given an animal to slaughter. Anyone else may not perform Shechitah, due to the concern that he is the type who faints from the sight of blood.

A BIT MORE
1. These items are not susceptible to Tum'ah. Therefore, even if a Tamei Mes performed the Shechitah, it would not convey Tum'ah to the meat. 2. A Kusi will not eat from an animal unless it was properly slaughtered, but he has no reservations about causing others to eat non-Kosher meat. Therefore, his Shechitah cannot be trusted without a witness. 3. If a Yisrael was not present, the Kusi should be offered a piece of its meat the size of an olive. If he eats it, we can be assured that he slaughtered the animal properly. 4. If the Yisrael comes in and out, the Nochri will be afraid to touch the wine since it does not belong to him. 5. If the knife was not checked prior to the Shechitah, the Shechitah is valid b'Di'eved as long as it was checked afterwards and found to be valid. 6. If the Shochet was not tested for his proficiency prior to the Shechitah but was tested afterwards and found to be proficient, the Shechitah is valid. If we did not have a chance to speak to him after the Shechitah, but there was a Yisrael present who saw his Shechitah, that suffices. 7. However, even if the Shochet had not slaughtered previously, if he insists that he is certain that he did not faint, the Shechitah is Kosher. If we did not have a chance to speak to him after the Shechitah but there was a Yisrael present who saw his Shechitah, that suffices.
