(Mishnah): Any Mitzvah for the son that are upon the father, men are obligated and women are exempt.

Any positive time-bound Mitzvah, men are obligated and women are exempt.

Any positive Mitzvah that is not time-bound, both men and women are obligated.

Any negative Mitzvah, whether time-bound or not time-bound, both men and women are obligated, except for shaving the beard, rounding the corners of the head and a Kohen becoming impure to a corpse (for which women are exempt).

(Gemara - Beraisa): A father is obligated to do the following things for his son - circumcise him, redeem him (if he is a firstborn), teach him Torah, teach him a trade and marry him to a woman.

R. Akiva: He must also teach him to swim.
