FOOTNOTES:
==========
(1) These Halachos apply to Kelayim; with regard to Shabbos, it can never be said that "k'Neged ha'Omed Mutar."
(2) That is, the length of each of the sections of the Mechitzah. Each section is separated from the next by a breach, see column (B).
(3) That is, as long as the Mechitzah does not have a breach large enough to invalidate it (see column B).
(4) Because more than 3 Tefachim is no longer in the category of Lavud.
(5) According to Rav Papa, who says that when the Parutz and Omed areas are equal the Mechitzah is valid, this refers to when the breach is the length of the standing parts of the Mechitzah *plus* a bit more (which makes the breached area larger than the remaining area).
(6) That is, up to but *not* including 4 Tefachim.
