DAF DISCUSSIONS - SHEKALIM 2

Stephen Waldman asked:

I live outside of San Francisco California in the US. Where can I find a daf yomi shiur that is available by phone?

Thank you,

Stephen Waldman

The Kollel replies:

Dear Stephen,

There is an automated "Dial-a-Daf" telephone number, under the auspices of "Torah Communications Network," in several cities in the U.S., including Los Angeles. It is a computerized system which allows you to pause, rewind, and fast-forward, and to control the speed, as well as other features.

I called the central office in New York for you and they told me that it is necessary to call them to sign up in order to receive access to the service. There is a registration fee of $36 (which is waived for a 2-year subscription) and a monthly charge of $8. To sign up or to get more information, call 1-718-436-4999.

There are also Dafyomi tapes ("Kol ha'Daf") available for purchase. Torah Communications Network also produces a "CD-Daf" for personal computers which includes the Kol ha'Daf tapes, as well as the actual Daf on your computer screen, with many advanced features. They sell a CD set (14 CD's) with the audio portion from Dial-a-Daf on the entire Shas for $100 (as I saw advertised last year), or $10 for a single compact disc.

I hope this information is helpful.

All the best,

Yisrael Shaw
