Gut Chanukah.
The Gemara says Klal Yisrael couldn't say Hallel since they had Pesel Micha. How coud they say Shira, they also had Pesel Micha?

Simcha Cohen,
Kol Tuv!
The MAHARSHA addresses your question and says that when Klal Yisrael passed through the Yam Suf and sang Shirah, the Pesel of Michah was still being kept hidden and the rest of Klal Yisrael were not aware of it. That is why they did not refrain from saying "Kemohen Yiheyu Oseihen" -- "Those who make them should be like them (the idols, i.e. lifeless)."

Dear Simchah
I actually answered this question in my Review Answers on the Daf. The Gemara says 'Pesel shel Michah Omed be'Bechi', which the Rashbam exaplains to mean 'be'Simchah'. This description was only applicable in the time of David, when they served it publicly, but not when they crossed the Yam-Suf, when it was kept secretly, and was not served in public (as the Maharsha explains).
Lovely to hear from you. A Lichtigen Chanukah, Kol tuv
