Dear Yehoshua,
To be exact, the Gemara asks that Hashboso (removing the Chametz) should be on the night of the 15th. First of all, only R' Yehuda requires burning- otherwise there are other ways . But if the Gemara now holds that this is the proper time then even burning is permitted and required to do, even though its Yomtov (just like we bring Korbanos on Shabbos)
