The Kollel replies:
It is possible that the Mishnah did not want to give the impression that Bedikas Chametz is only an obligation on checking one's house, as opposed to eradicating Chametz in general. It therefore did not say "ha'Bayis" or Mekomos."

לענ"ד יש ליישב ע"פ תוס' ב. ד"ה אור שמצד חיובי בל יראה שחלים על הבתים והמקומות היה מספיק ביטול ורק "שמא יבוא לאוכלו" יש חיוב גם לבדוק, ולכן עיקר הנקודה וההתמקדות הוא על החמץ.
