The notes at the end of 29b say that a slave needs a document of emancipation to marry a Jewess. The gemara says we are talking about a Canaanite slave. Therefore, can a freed Canaanite slave marry a Jewess?

A freed Canaanite slave is like any other Ger (convert) and is a full-fledged Jew and may marry a Jewess.
