I understand that the Nida and Ziva cycle MiDoraisa is seven days of Nida followed by 11 days of Ziva. So that if the woman sees for less than seven days during the Nida period she counts the balance of the seven days as clean days and then goes into the 11-day Ziva cycle. (For instance if she sees five days, she counts two clean days and then goes into the Ziva period.)

Suppose her Nida flow lasts for eight days. Does she count any clean days before the Ziva period starts or is the eighth day considered the first day of the Ziva cycle? So that if she only saw that eighth day she would be a Zava Ketana.

Suppose her Nida flow lasts for 11 days. Does she count any clean days before the Ziva period starts or do the four days she saw after the first seven days make her a Zava Gedola?

This question is based on the assumption that the woman was NOT confused about her count so that she knew exactly in her cycle when she saw the blood.
