Dear Shmuel,
The Gemara brings R' Shimon Ben Yehuda in the name of R' Shimon . One could ask why isn't the 2nd R' Shimon's father mentioned like the first? Rashbam therefore explains that it is known that R' Shimon always means R' Shimon Bar Yochai.
