jonathan wolf asked:

can you please tell me if an ox can be classified as muad only in certain locations? for example, if an ox is only known to gore in location A (and is muad), but there is no evidence of it ever having gored in location B, is it still "tam" with respect to location B? is there any expectation by the owner of location B, that if the ox is brought to location B, that it will become muad just because it was muad in location A?

The Kollel replies:

Dear Johnathan,

Hello there and thanks for your inquiry. To the best of my knowledge with regard to a Mu'ad there is no distinction between locations. In the case of Shabbos vs. weekdays for example, Tosfos offer two possible logical explanations for the pattern of the animal's behavior. In your case we would have to find a reason why not to consider the animal a Mu'ad in its second location.

All the best.
