DAF DISCUSSIONS - SHABBOS 27

gabriel shagabayev asks:

when Abaye asks rava how can you compare both the halachot of tumah tzara'at with tumah sheratzim. since tumah tzara'at is obviously more stringent. When the Gemara brings down Rava's answer it doesn't say " Rava Amar" Rather it says "Veidach" how come it calls Rava here the other one instead of mentioning his name.

The Kollel replies:

Many times a Sugya does not continue to quote the names of the Amora'im who appear at the beginning of the discussion, preferring to use v'Idach. This may imply that the Amora himself did not conclude the discussion, but rather the Gemara is stating how he would have answered. Thus, it may not be Rava speaking but rather the Gemara, written some 100 years after his death.
