DAF DISCUSSIONS - GITIN 2

Yair Gemara asked:

Why does tosfos bring the whole idea of the 12 lines

Yair Gemara, toronto ontario canada

The Kollel replies:

This relates to the fact that the word "Get" refers to Get Ishah specifically. A Shtar of Mamon does not have twelve lines. This somewhat reinforces the view that Stam "Get" is a bill of divorce and when the term "Get" is used in other places to refer to Shtar Mamon, the term is borrowed.
