DAF DISCUSSIONS - SOTAH 6

zalmen asked:

If its possible to explain the ''kal v'chomer'' from rava a little more clearer-i dont see how the yavam is more ''chmur'' then the baal!-if its possible to get back to me a.s.a.p i have to give a shiur on this issue.

Thank you very much, I really appriciate the work of your website!

The Kollel replies:

Rava's Kal-va'Chomer goes like this:

Before the Sotah became forbidden, she was permitted to her husband but forbidden to the Yavam. Consequently, if she now becomes forbidden to her husband (to whom she was hitherto permitted), how much more so will she be forbidden to the Yavam (to whom she was already forbidden) after her husband dies.
