DAF DISCUSSIONS - NAZIR 45

Elisha Yagudayev asks:

Abaye explains that if a zav had 2 flows, he can go into machane leviya as a tevul yom, but if he had 3 flows, he cannot based of the drasha of "ohel moed". How can we say this. Doesnt the mishna in megillah 8a say that the only difference between the two zavim are the requirement to bring korbanot. According to abaye, there is another difference which seems to contrafict this mishna.

Thank you for all your help

The Kollel replies:

Elisha, the Mishnah in Megilah 8a actually explains our Gemara. Since the Mishnah there states that if he had 3 flows he must bring a Korban, this means that he is Mechusar Kaparah and may not enter the Machaneh Leviyah. If he had only two flows, this means that he does not need a Korban and therefore is not lacking atonement, which is why he may enter the Machaneh Leviyah.
