Why does Rashi mention red as well as black and white? Is it because of the gmara Shabbos 114a

The Kollel replies:

It seems (as you quote from Shabbos 114a) that clothes that are not "white or black" are described as red (Rebbi Yanai did not want white and black), and Rashi means that color is a vague Siman whether it is white, black, or any other color.
