In the second line of the gemara we see the word Sherisu and the mesoras hashas has a notation that some texts have the word Sherituha instead. Why is this important to know? What is the difference in translation?

Sherisu means "you permitted" (her without Chalitzah); "Sherituha" means "you permitted her". The latter is more accurate and is also the Girsa in Shabbos 136b.
