There is generally only one Rebbi Yochanan (Stam) who appears regularly throughout Shas. He was a Talmid of Rebbi Yehudah ha'Nasi (also known as Rebbi). Among the first generation of Amora'im, he lived in Eretz Yisrael and compiled the Talmud Yerushalmi.
Rebbi Yakov was one of his Talmidim.
