DAF DISCUSSIONS - BERACHOS 18

David Strimling asks:

I'm using the subject material and find it excellent. I'm behind on the match-up with Bavli. Until Yerushalmi to Match Berachos 18 the match-up has been fine. When I started Yerushalmi to Match Berachos 18 I found a great difference in the Talmud I'm using and the subject material: Section 1) (a) and (b) are a perfect match. My Talmud does not have Sections 1) (c) thru (l). I'm using the Artscroll Schottenstein Edition which uses the Oz Vehadar test. What is the problem?

The Kollel replies:

If you look in a standard Vilna Yerushalmi, the first Mishnah of Perek 3 is long, and sections of it are repeated below as Halachah 2, Halachah 3...

Oz v'Hadar decided that the repeated parts do not belong here, so they deleted them from here. In my Perush I explained them both here, and also where they appear below as Halachah 2, Halachah 3. Perhaps I should include such a note in my Perush, i.e. after 1:b:1 on

Yerushalmi to Match

BERACHOS 18

Note: the rest of this Mishnah is repeated below as Halachah 2, Halachah 3...

Some modern editions of the Yerushalmi deleted them from here and bring them only below.
