DAF DISCUSSIONS - BERACHOS 12

Isaac Niasoff asks:

The top of 12a we said maybe the berachah Reish Lakish was referring to was Ahava Rabbah, as that may not be MeAkev Zu es Zu. The Gemara answers that it can't be that, since it would be due to the fact it is not time yet to say Yotzer Ohr.

From there we pretty much establish that the beracha was Yotzer Ohr

My question is that on the Third line we said "because it wasn't time to say Yotzer Ohr" so why would we think that that was the correct Beracha the kohanim said?

Isaac Niasoff, United States

The Kollel replies:

Dear Isaac,

The 3rd line (it wasn't time for Yotzer Ohr) is working with the opinion that Ahava Raba was the chosen Bracha- and it says Dilma- maybe- maybe it is not time yet.

But if the chosen Bracha is Yotzer Ohr it is for sure already time. Both sides are open.

All the best,
