 DAF DISCUSSIONS - CHULIN 12
1. Barry Epstein asked:

1. It quotes Zevachim 2a that intent is required.

2. It quotes Tosafos that offerings done with no specific intent are just as valid.

Halachah?

2. The Kollel replies:

When slaughtering Korbanos, the wrong intent can indeed invalidate the Korban, to a greater or lesser extent. However, if the Korban is slaughtered without any intent, the Korban is valid, since the Korban is "expected" to be brought Lishmah ("Setama Lishmah"), see Zevachim 2b.
