Surely the Maharsha on this Daf knew that Aharon was not the Bechor. So why did he write that Aharon was the bechor?

Dear Reuven,
The Sefer Benayahu of the Ben Ish Chai asks your question on the Maharsha, and doesn't answer. However, the Midrash Rabah, Bamidbar 6:2, says that Aharon was a Bechor! (although the Etz Yosef admits that Miryam was older). Perhaps the oldest boy in the house had rights to performing Avodah.
All the best,
Reuven Weiner
