DAF DISCUSSIONS - BERACHOS 3

boruch kahan asked:

at the end Tosfos says "KEMOY KEYN MAH SHENOYTEL MIN HO-ASHIRIM YISCHASER MIN HO-ASHIRIM" is this Stam a loshon of Toysfos or does it come from a gemoro or Maamar CHAZAL

boruch kahan, london u.k.

The Kollel replies:

No, he simply means that David Hamelech complained that although the rich can continue to support the poor, why should the money come at their expense if it can be gained through military engagement.

The wording of the Tosfos Rosh is more clear, "Mah she'Nefarnes Es ha'Aniyim, Chaser Min ha'Ashirim."
