Why, having already mentioned the sin of the Meraglim at length (See Shelishi in Devarim), does it mention it again here, albeit briefly?


Ramban: Because of the severity of the sin, 1 (as indicated by the fact that Moshe had to Daven for forty day and forty nights to reverse Hashem's decision to wipe out Yisrael - Ramban on Pasuk 25). 2


Ramban: And it is also because testing Hashem is a grave sin, as the Torah states in Devarim 6:17, citing Marah, that it repeats the sin of Marah here.
