What is the significance of "Pen Tochal Vesava'ata"?
Rashi (11:16): It is satiation causes a person to rebel. 1
Sha'arei Teshuvah (1:30): As long as a person follows Ta'avah (lust), he is drawn after offshoots of physicality, and distanced from the ways of the intellectual soul, and his Yetzer [ha'Ra] overpowers him.
Hence the previous Pasuk mentioned 'good houses', 'a lot of cattle and sheep' and 'lots of silver and gold' and 'everything you have will increase' - to teach us that everything in excess is subject to corruption.
