What are the implications of the phrase "Lih'yos Lo le'Am Segulah?" Why is it a reason not to go astray after other gods?

Rashi #1, Ramban #1, Seforno, Targum Onkelos and Targum Yonasan: Refer to Sh'mos, 19:5:3:1. 1 Moreover, Yisrael are under the sole jurisdiction of Hashem, despite the fact that they are the smallest nation 2 - Ramban.

Ramban: And in spite of the Pasuk in Mishlei, 14:28 "be'Rov Am Hadras Melech.".

What are the implications of the word "Ki" at the beginning of the Pasuk?

1.

Ramban: It is particularly unbefitting for an Am Segulah 1 to stray after other gods.

2.

Seforno: Since we are a holy nation, it is not befitting to desecrate our Kedushah by bearing children who are Pasul (spiritually defected).
