What is the meaning of "Sikim be'Eineichem"?

Rashi: It means 'sharp pegs that make holes in your eyes'.

Ramban: 'Sharp thorns 1 in your eyes', 2 metaphorically speaking. 3

Rashbam: 'Sharp thorns that stab you in the eyes'. 4

Targum Onkelos: It means 'armed brigades'.

Targum Yonasan: 'They will look at you with an Ayin ha'Ra'.

Ramban: Causing you to emulate their abominations and to worship idols like them, as the Torah specifically writes in Sh'mos 23:33.

Rashi (in Yehoshua, 23:13): 'They will surround you like a Tzoneh' - a shield that surrounds a person on three-sided.

Rashbam #2: It means 'to cool you down'. 3

Targum Yonasan: 'They will surround you with shields'.
