Why does the Torah insert the (otherwise superfluous) words "u'Nesatem es Nachalaso le'Echav"?

Bava Basra, 116a: It hints at another unspecified 'Nesinah', namely, that of a person on his death-bed, - to teach us that his verbal gift is valid, even without a Kinyan. 1
