What are the connotations of "Ali Be'er Enu Lah!"

1.

Rashi: To the well they sang 'Come up well, from the valley and bring up what you found there!' and to the people they sang 'Sing praises to it!'

2.

Targum Yonasan: When, following Miriam's death, the well was hidden from them, they sang to it 1 'Come up well; Come up well!' and it came up. 2

1

See above chapter 20.

2

Rashbam: And the reason that they did not sing then was because Moshe and Aharon were punished on account of it.

2)

Why did they only sing the praises of the miraculous well now and not during the forty years that it accompanied them on the merit of Miriam?

1.

Rashi: Because of the supernatural miracle that Hashem had just performed through it. 1

1

As opposed to the ongoing presence of the roving well, which was more of a natural miracle.

3)

Why is the name of Moshe nor the Name of Hashem mentioned in connection with the Shiras ha'Be'er?

1.

Rashi (on Pasuk 20): because he was punished on account of it. And since Moshe's name is not mentioned, Hakadosh-Baruch-Hu's Name is not mentioned either. 1

2.

Seforno: Because the current miracle came to rectify the mistake he made in not speaking to the rock (Refer to 21:16:1:2*). 2

1

Rashi: A Mashal to a king who declined to attend a party, because his friend would not be there.

2

Seforno: As the Torah indicated above when it wrote "va'Yikadesh Bam" (Refer to 20:13:2:4).
