What do we learn from "Tenu Shechar l'Oved"?

Sanhedrin 43a: Before executing someone, we give to him a cup of wine 1 with frankincense inside (to befuddle him 2 ).

Eruvin 65a: Wine was created only [to console mourners, and] to give to Resha'im their reward in this world.

3.

Rashi: Oved is one who will perish in the end, i.e. a Rasha.

4.

Malbim: Shechar, which intoxicates, is proper only for Oved, so he will mind will be totally perturbed and "he will forget his poverty" (7), just like we intoxicate one who goes to be executed.

Sanhedrin 43a: Important women of Yerushalayim would donate this. If they did not donate it, the Tzibur pays for it, since we learn from a verse.

Me'iri (43a): This is after he confessed. We do so, so he will not feel his death so much.

Why does it say "v'Yayin l'Marei Nafesh"?
