What does the Torah mean when it states that the magicians were not able to stand before Moshe?

Ramban: It means (not that they could not be summoned to the palace [Refer to 8:15:1:2*] but) that, due to the great embarrassment of being covered with boils, they closeted themselves in their homes, in order to avoid being seen by Moshe either in the palace or even in the street.

Hadar Zekenim (8): Moshe was esteemed in their eyes. They would have stood for him, but boils are often on the knees and thighs, so they could not stand.
