When is the question of whether the dye is seen as present on a dyed item, relevant?
An ownerless monkey applied Reuven’s dye to Shimon’s wool.
Someone stole dye and dyed something which the dye doesn’t add to its value, like a monkey.
Someone stole dye and wool, and used the dye to dye the wool, in a scenario where dyed wool is more expensive.

Why isn’t the question of whether the dye is seen as present on a dyed item relevant to someone who stole dye and used it to dye wool?
He anyways must pay because he damaged (i.e. consumed) the dye.
Maybe the dye’s owner wants the wool.
If the dye is seen as still here, there is no way to separate it from the wool and return it; he must therefore pay for it.

Why must a Beged dyed with paints made from Orlah peels be burned?
Because “Chazusa Milsa He — Appearance is significant.”
By Orla any Hana’a is forbidden. Even though appearance is insignificant, it still gives us pleasure by making the Beged look nicer.
This is a case where the Beged is dyed with so much dye that it adds to the Beged’s weight, making the dye significant.
We don’t rule that it must be burned.
Orla is different because it’s a Mitzva Hateluya BaAretz.
Why isn’t absorbed Dam Tevusa Metamei if it is still visible?
“Chazusa Milsa He — Appearance is significant” only discusses appearance which adds to the object’s value.
Although its visible now, the blood will eventually fade away.
Dam Tevusa is only Metamei Rabbinically, so they were lenient not to include absorbed blood, even when visible.
Gezel, Orla, and Shevi’is have a Pasuk to teach us “Chazusa Milsa He — Appearance is significant,” Dam doesn’t.
Tumah depends on being able to touch it, and absorbed blood can’t be touched because its already dry.
Why doesn’t wood have Kedushas Shevi’is?
Benefit from the wood is not derived at the same time that the firewood is consumed.
It’s not edible.
Life would be impossible without firewood for heat and cooking.
Because wood isn’t mentioned in Vayikra Perek 25.
We don’t use wood as Bikurim, Terumah, or Maaser, and it isn’t prohibited as Orla.
