1) TOSFOS DH DE'HURMIZ תוספות ד"ה דהורמיז (SUMMARY: Tosfos explain how Hashem was able to render Himself Tamei [Kevayachol] by burying Moshe, despite the fact that He is a Kohen). בקונטרס גרס קמא בלא אל"ף ובתרא באל"ף. (a) Explanation #1: Rashi spells the first 'Hurmiz' with an 'Alef' (at the beginning), and the second one without one. ור"ת גריס תרוייהו בלא אל"ף, אלא קמא ‘הורמיז‘ בזי"ן כמו (ב"ב דף ח. ושם) ‘איפרא הורמיז‘ שהוא לשון חן מאת המקום; ‘איפרא‘ כמו (ב"מ דף קיט.) ‘אפריון נמטייה‘ ובתרא ‘הורמין‘ - בנו"ן, כמו ‘הורמין בר לילתא‘ (ב"ב דף עג.). (b) Explanation #2: Rabeinu spells them both without an 'Alef', only the first one he spells with a "Zayin' (at the end), which is an expression of 'a Divine Chein', and 'Ifra' is an expression of strength or B'rachah (like 'Apiryon Nimtayah', at the end of Bava Metzi'a); whereas the second one, he spells with a 'Nun' (the name of a demon, like 'Hurmin bar Lilsa', in Bava Basra 73a) 2) TOSFOS DH BE'MAI TAVIL תוספות ד"ה במאי טביל הא לא קשה ליה היאך נטמא? (a) Implied Question: On what grounds was He permitted to render Himself Tamei (Kevayachol), however? דישראל נקראו בנים למקום. (b) Answer: Since Yisrael are called children of Hashem (and a Kohen is permitted to render himself Tamei for the seven relatives), it was permitted.
