SUMMARY

1. Rebbi Eliezer cursed Rebbi Akiva that he would die by the knife.

2. Rebbi Akiva replied that to Rebbi Eliezer that he was just following Rebbi Eliezer's own teaching.

3. The Gemara explains why Rav Yehudah had to agree with Rebbi Akiva's ruling both with regard to Pesach and with regard to Milah.

4. The offering of the Korban Chagigah does not override Shabbos.

5. The Mishnah discusses the basic laws of the Korban Chagigah.

A BIT MORE

1. Rebbi Eliezer did not appreciate a question that Rebbi Akiva asked him about slaughtering, and he said, "Just as you asked this question regarding slaughtering with a knife, so you will die by the knife."

2. Rebbi Eliezer taught that it is an Isur d'Rabanan to sprinkle someone with the ashes of the Parah Adumah on Shabbos.

3. Had he ruled this way only with regard to Pesach, one might have thought that he is lenient in the case of Milah, since thirteen covenants were enacted for Milah. Had he ruled this way only with regard to Milah, one might have thought that this is because one still may have Bris Milah done on a later day, as opposed to the Korban Pesach which may be offered only on Erev Pesach.

4. Accordingly, when Erev Pesach falls on Shabbos, people do not offer their Korban Chagigah until after Shabbos.

5. It may be brought from male or female cattle, sheep, and goats, and it is eaten for two days and one night.
