SUMMARY

1. If the Haza'os of the Log Shemen of a Metzora were done she'Lo Lishmah, or they were sprinkled in the wrong direction, it is valid.

2. According to Rebbi Eliezer, an Asham offered she'Lo Lishmah is Pasul, like a Chatas. The Rabanan disagree.

3. The seven arms of the Menorah and the seven oil holders are indispensable. If one is missing, the Menorah is Pasul.

4. The two Parshiyos of a Mezuzah, the four Parshiyos of Tefilin, and the Tzitzis on the four corners of a garment are indispensable. If one is missing, it is Pasul. Rebbi Yishmael says that the four Tzitziyos are four separate Mitzvos, and if one is missing, the others are still valid.

5. The Menorah was made from a single block of gold. If it was made from broken pieces of gold, it is Pasul, but if it was made from metals other than gold, it is valid.

6. The Chatzotzeros were made from one block of silver. If they were made from broken pieces of silver, they are valid, but if they were made from metals other than silver, they are Pasul.

7. All of the vessels that Moshe Rabeinu made for the Mishkan were valid for his time and for future generations, with the exception of the Chatzotzeros.

8. Rebbi says that if the Menorah is made from wood, it is Pasul. Rebbi Yosi b'Rebbi Yehudah disagrees.

9. One may not make a structure with the same dimensions as the Heichal or the Ulam, or a courtyard with the dimensions of the Azarah, or a table or lantern which is similar to the Shulchan or Menorah in the Beis ha'Mikdash.

10. The height of the Menorah was 18 Tefachim. It had 22 Gevi'im, 11 Kaftorim, and 9 Perachim.

A BIT MORE

1. The Log Shemen that was sprinkled she'Lo Lishmah is valid and the Kohanim may eat the remaining oil of the Log Shemen. Nevertheless, the Metzora is not permitted to enter the Machaneh until he brings another Log Shemen.

2. However, Rebbi Eliezer agrees that if the Log Shemen of a Metzora which is brought with his Asham is sprinkled she'Lo Lishmah, it is valid, because the law of an Asham is derived through a Hekesh from Chatas. A law that is derived through a Hekesh cannot be derived for another category through another Hekesh.

3. The Menorah was made with one central shaft, from which six arms protruded from each side. On top of each of the seven arms was a small vessel which held the oil.

4. If even one letter in a Mezuzah or Tefilin is missing or is Pasul, the entire Mezuzah or Tefilin is Pasul.

5. If the Menorah is made from any metal other than gold, it is not necessary for a Kikar's weight of metal to be used. It is also not necessary to construct it with Gevi'im and Kaftorim, or to make it from a single block of metal.

6. The Chatzotzeros were valid for Moshe Rabeinu, but not for future generations.

7. However, everyone agrees that if the Menorah is made from earthenware, it is Pasul.

8. One may make a lantern with six or eight arms, but he may not make one with seven arms, even from other metals. However, he may make a wooden Menorah with seven arms, according to Rebbi, who maintains that a Menorah from wood in the Beis ha'Mikdash was Pasul.

9. All of the Gevi'im, Kaftorim, and Perachim of the Menorah were essential. If one was missing, the Menorah was Pasul. If the Menorah had Gevi'im and not Kaftorim, or Kaftorim and not Perachim, it was Pasul.

10. The base was 3 Tefachim high. The third Tefach was in the shape of a Perach, followed by 2 smooth Tefachim with no design. The sixth Tefach had designs of a Gevi'a, Kaftor, and Perach. The next two Tefachim were smooth. The ninth Tefach had the design of a Kaftor, with two branches emanating from it, projecting outwards to each side, and up to the height of the Menorah. The tenth Tefach was smooth, followed by a Tefach with a Kaftor, with two more branches protruding from it. The twelfth Tefach was smooth, followed by a Tefach with a Kaftor, with two more branches protruding from it. The next two Tefachim were smooth. The last three Tefachim had three Gevi'im, a Kaftor, and a Perach.
